I also wanted to offer you some advice if you have a weight loss goal for next year.
If they haven’t been trying to tempt you yet, they will be very soon.
Diets, detoxes, pills, potions, and rapid weight loss plans…
They usually come with ‘success stories’ that make it look quick and easy.
And they almost always end up with the lost weight being found again once they finish.
You deserve better
Better than to put time, money and effort into a plan that leaves you miserable and restricted, and does nothing to help you maintain the weight loss when you finish.
You DESERVE to get to where you want to be in a healthy, enjoyable, sustainable way…
And to gain the knowledge, tools and skills you need to be able to keep the results for good.
How do you do that?
If you’re unsure, honestly, hiring a coach or personal trainer can save you years of struggle.
Aside from that, focus on habits.
It’s not sexy.
It won’t get you dropping a stone (made up of mostly water, some muscle, and an amount of fat that’s much smaller than you think) in a couple of weeks.
But it is…
What actually works for long term success.
What habits can you build that fit into your lifestyle and move you towards who you want to be?
Here are some ideas…
👉 Planning your food for each day (my clients love planners like this one on amazon)
👉 Checking packets for calories and protein before you eat (good way to gradually learn more about foods and portion sizes)
👉 Filling half your dinner plate with veggies every evening
👉 Hitting 70,000 steps over the week
👉 Lifting weights 2-3 times a week
👉 Getting to bed by 10.30pm
👉 Planning in 2-3 ‘treats’ each week so you don’t miss out on what you love
Notice they’re specific, which means you can accurately track how well you’re doing them and adjust as needed.
This makes a huge difference. Don’t worry if you slip up – that’s part of the process. Check the goal to make sure it’s realistic (if it’s not, make it simpler or easier). Then dust yourself down and go again. Small steps add up to take you a very long way.
To sum up…
Habits are the secret to any long term success.
Ignore the quick fix rapid weight loss plans.
Take your time and create your own plan that sets you up for life.
And one other thing…
Yes, 100% chase goals and strive to become a fitter, happier, healthier, more confident, even better version of you. I’m all for doing that.
Just remember while you do, that you deserve to feel happy right now.
Because, no matter what your brain may sometimes tell you, you are always already enough.
