A true miracle
I came to Hayley in 2022, looking for 2 things. Weight loss (of course!) and help with stopping the yo-yo dieting I’d been doing since I was 15 years old.
I was in my 40s, and approaching 50, and I found it acutely embarrassing that I was STILL in a cycle of losing 50 lbs, then gaining 50 lbs. ALWAYS on a diet and ALWAYS dieting. Watching my weight and measuring every bit of food I ate. I wondered – am I going to be doing this when I’m 90!? Will it ever stop!
I found Hayley on-line, and she seemed so supportive and positive that it gave me hope that she might be able to help me get out of this 30-year pattern.
In our first sessions, I cried a lot when we talked about the years of dieting and the pattern. The exhaustion of so many years of trying and failing was really overwhelming. And also, the hope that someone might be able to build a different mindset at last.
Over a few months of sessions, a miracle happened.
The main mindset change was Hayley clearly explaining how I’d fallen into this pattern. From the “all or nothing” mentality of the diets that we try as part of weight loss. When you’re “on” the diet, you feel you’re doing good. But when you slip or stray “off” the diet, then you feel like you’ve failed. And that’s where the deprivation and then over-eating patterns come in. Hayley shared that many, many women are trapped in this place.
We worked to build a new mindset, which was a slow process. We planned out different responses to regular situations. Sometimes they went well, sometimes not, but we were moving in the right direction. After about a year, I felt that I was on a positive enough trajectory to not need coaching anymore.
The goal of my food choices was no longer to eat as few calories as possible – it was now to eat as many healthy foods as possible, to feel incredible. Lots of great protein, fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fatty fish, lots and lots of great fats, vitamins, supplements. As well as rest, sleep, fun, nature and laughter.
After I stopped the regular coaching, another wonderful thing happened.
By enjoying eating all the amazing, healthy food, and loving the running and weight training that Hayley had me doing, I realised how much I liked my body. The body that finally took its natural shape with healthy eating and regular exercise. It’s not Nicole Kidman’s body (sob!) but I don’t care.
It’s my body and I really, really like it. I love eating food and especially this wonderful vibrant healthy food that makes me feel great. And I really love this beautiful body that I had all along.
After 30 years in a pattern of not loving food or my body, I’m now in a completely different place, thanks to Coaching with Hayley.

– Helped me get menopause-ready with a program of weight training, exercise and nutrition
– Empowered me to change my focus of food onto its health benefits
– Guided me to bring my alcohol drinking significantly down

– Gave me a clear understanding of how to stay fit, healthy and vibrant over the next decades

Breaking away from 30 years of dieting is HUGE.
To come away from that with a new-found appreciation for the amazing body you’ve always had, and wanting to nourish it, fuel it and strengthen it so you feel at your best, makes me incredibly happy. As a coach, that’s what I want for every client I work with.
